Kalido Adds Automated Data-Matching In Information Engine

The new functionality in the data-modeling software includes integrated matching intelligence that improves rules management, candidate management, confidence calculation, process matching and survivor-ship management.

Kalido has introduced a new version of the Information Engine that includes automated data-matching capabilities targeted at companies struggling with regulatory compliance and cost-cutting initiatives.

Information Engine in general lets users model business scenarios such as organizational change or margin analysis from a data warehouse and automatically feed the information to end users through business intelligence tools.

The new functionality includes integrated matching intelligence that improves rules management, candidate management, confidence calculation, process matching and survivor-ship management, Kalido said. Specifically, the integrated matching technology enables customers to:

-- De-dupe and match records from different sources to help build gold-copy master data, and then automatically create and maintain those mapping relationships.

- Use hierarchy relationships as part of a match and support complex match definitions across fields.

-- Use any master data element or nickname as a thesaurus and use those elements as part of a matching criterion.

-- And deliver non-conforming master data records that are rejected in the match process to data stewards, who receive the problem records through the software'sworkflow capabilities.

The upgrade, introduced Monday, also includes better integration with Kalido's Business Information Modeler, a tool that lets analysts sit down with business constituents to discuss information delivery, and changes thereto, in visual terms they can easily understand.

In March, Kalido announced a partnership with data warehouse appliance vendorNetezza . Under the agreement, the companies planned to deliver joint products that they claimed would make it easier for customers to roll out analytic applications.

Netezza's appliances automate much of the database administration activities, such as hardware configuration and tuning; while Kalido software handles much of the development, such as physical schema management, data load, exception management, integrated master data management and business intelligence configuration.

Kalido was named a company to watch in this year's Intelligent Enterprise Editors' Choice Awards.
