Metastorm Upgrades BPM SuiteVersion 7.6 of the Metastorm BPM strengthens the company's use of Microsoft desktop technologies, including Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Office 2007. By Antone Gonsalves June 2, 2008 Metastorm has released an upgrade of its business process management suite that includes extended support for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and adds business activity monitoring on Windows Vista. Version 7.6 of the Metastorm BPM strengthens the company's use of Microsoft desktop technologies. Meatstorm's software is geared toward companies that have standardized on Microsoft productivity applications, such as SharePoint and Office 2007. The latest features in Metastorm BPM allows organizations to incorporate content collaboration and process monitoring, reporting and analysis directly into the desktop and Web interfaces of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and within SharePoint portal interfaces. In addition, a new "notify" gadget is available for Vista to alert workers when new items require their attention in Metastorm BPM. The latest feature adds to Metastorm's existing BAM capabilities, which include alerts for Research In Motion's BlackBerry smartphone. Metastorm has moved its BPM, business process analysis and enterprise architecture software to a common platform that the company calls Metastorm Enterprise. The platform includes shared services and a common meta-model for better visibility and understanding of the impact of decisions. The latest version of Metastorm BPM leverages the simulation engine of Metatstorm ProVision for evaluating new process models. Metastorm BPM 7.6 was released last week. Pricing was not disclosed.
