Watson 2.0

The Watson search engine makes your computer perform online searches for you, based on the context of the work you're doing, and sorts the results by relevance to that context. Watson 2.0's new sidepane user interface changes as you work in any application, showing content from all connected sources relevant to your current task. The new Information Source Wizard lets you connect Watson to your preferred information sources, such as premium news or paid research sites. Now integrated with Google's Desktop Search and Search Appliance products and with HighBeam Research's online research engine, Watson detects "search spam" as well. Price is $200 per seat under a software license or $99 for a one-year retail subscription. Free trial available. Intellext, www.intellext.com

Savvion Process Asset Manager

Process Asset Manager is a bundled package that includes the Savvion Process Repository Server along with an unlimited number of Process Modeler client licenses. The Process Repository Server stores, versions and manages processes while fostering and supporting their reuse so they become assets that can be reused consistently by enterprise business process teams. Process Asset Manager helps enterprise business analysts define and document processes to meet regulatory compliance requirements or set up division- or enterprise-level process competency centers. Price is $50,000. Savvion, www.savvion.com

webMethods for Compliance

This software builds on webMethods' business activity monitoring capabilities, which include a self-learning "fingerprinting" feature that uses past events to diagnose current process exceptions. webMethods for Compliance monitors the real-time status of end-to-end business processes, transactions and control points. It spots threshold violations and suspicious patterns of behavior while dynamically changing baseline conditions to reduce false alerts. It standardizes exception remediation actions via automated workflow with audit capabilities. Pricing is highly variable; depending on implementation, it can range from $300,000 to more than $1 million. webMethods, www.webmethods.com

Oracle Application Server Standard Edition One

Part of the Oracle Fusion Middleware family of products, Standard Edition One includes a preintegrated Web Server, Web site development tools, Java development tools and Instant Portal. Available directly from Oracle and VARs, the product costs $4,995 per processor or $149 per user with a minimum of five users. Oracle, www.oracle.com/middleware

ContactNet 4.0

This enterprise relationship search application was built for large enterprise use. It lets organizations use individual employees' contacts as an enterprise resource by showing the relationships and social networks that employees have with outside contacts and companies. Users can search for key introductions by business function, geography and industry as well as the name, title and company of their targets. Pricing starts at $30,000 per year.
