ArcPad 6.0.1 and ArcPad Application Builder 6.0.1 ArcPad is a mobile mapping and GIS technology that now includes a map rotation tool, localized versions in several languages, improved symbology, and enhancements, through ArcPad Application Builder, to the ArcPad object model and the customization environment.
Cognos Series 7, version 2 Business intelligence (BI) product offering scorecards, dashboards, managed reporting, data analysis, ad hoc query, event-driven BI, and data integration. Version 2 includes the following enhancements: projection capabilities, business activity monitoring, guided analysis capabilities, increased support for massive data volumes, new analysis features, zero footprint option (access through browser with no plug-ins or applets). Now supports HPUX 11i and IBM AIX 5L.
EAServer 4.2 Enterprise application server that integrates J2EE 1.3, secure enterprise Web services, C/C++, PowerBuilder, and COM. Its benchmarked speed has increased 46 percent, according to SPECjAppServer.
Identity Systems 2.1 Augments DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server-based systems with intelligent name and address search-matching capabilities for activities such as accurate customer lookup, deduping, fraud investigation, and screening of individuals and organizations (for compliance with the Patriot Act, for example).
Integration Architect and Integration Engines Data Junction's integration platform now has an open, XML-based metadata repository. Integration Architect is an economical real-time integration package that can manipulate structured record sets, canonical documents (such as EDI), and unstructured data. Integration Process Designer is enhanced with a new Integration Map Designer and new Wizards, and enriched overall functionality.
Miner3D Access 3.1 A data analysis add-in for Microsoft Access. Standard Edition has a new user interface. Professional Edition has new "smart tools": Selector, Calculator, and Load Control.
PegaCARD Customer Care An enterprisewide customer service application for card-issuing organizations. Designed for differentiated customer service and automation capabilities through integration of front- and back-office processes. Built on the Pegasystems patented rules architecture, with embedded best practices.
QoB Lab and QoB Assistant These debut products from a Bowstreet spinoff are the first two in an integrated suite of products that will automate the process of understanding, defining, managing, and analyzing XML-based services.
Sagent DirectLink for Packaged Applications and Sagent OpenLink With these releases, Sagent announces completion of its goal to provide analytics and real-time BI in its platform. DirectLink is a new connectivity module that allows users to connect and analyze data from proprietary ERP applications. OpenLink allows any ODBC or JDBC-compliant software application to use the analytic capabilities of Sagent's Data Access Server.
Symmetrix DMX Series The Symmetrix DMX series of information storage systems is based on the new, patented Direct Matrix Architecture, created to lower storage acquisition and operations costs. The new point-to-point interconnect architecture is designed for better performance, availability, and flexibility than conventional bus- and switch-based architectures.
WebFOCUS 5 Version 5 has more than 450 new features supporting better performance and increased three-way scalability (number of users, number of applications, and variety of users). One key enhancement set enables closed-loop BI, providing users with integrated ways to act on insights and write back to sources.
CleverPath CA's CleverPath division simultaneously released a new technology blueprint, revisions of its two products, and new package options. The "Information in Action" blueprint is a development model for extending content portals' capabilities into high-value analysis and decision support through enterprise information and process integration. This program coincides with release 4.5 of CleverPath Portal, 9.5 of CleverPath Aion Business Rules Expert, and three new options: Collaboration (for chat, cobrowsing, and so on), Advanced Access Control (for single sign-on to internal and external systems), and Dashboard (packaged dashboard components). Portal now has portlet development wizards and enhanced APIs for XML and Web. Aion can now provide its functions as Web services.
